Our Special Project This Fall – Exhibition "Her Northern Calling," Featuring Jewelry, Photography, and Architecture
"BALTU ROTAS" is a language of powerful symbols, literally engraved with connections to nature and traditions. Through these symbols, it speaks of the strength of the homeland and its people. The message of “Her Northern Roots” is revealed through black-and-white photography, capturing women in their chosen sacred places: under oak trees, in the family sauna, by the sea, rivers, or lakes. The exhibition will be held at the Ola Foundation, a very special and meticulously curated project, which itself is a remarkable piece of architectural art.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine added another, perhaps the most important contemporary story to “Her Northern Calling.” Part of the exhibition is dedicated to Ukrainian women. The photographs were taken in Latvia during a time when families were seeking refuge and peace. The call gained a universal significance.
The exhibition "Her Northern Calling" at the Ola Foundation will be open from November 12th to December 31st. Visits must be reserved in advance. The visit includes a guided tour of the entire complex and two current exhibitions, coffee, tea, and light snacks in the unique atmosphere of the Ola Foundation.
